Chiropractors use postural analysis to help
patients enjoy relief from various types of pain. Many patients are able to
enjoy significant relief from physical symptoms simply by improving their
posture.
Difference between a good and a bad posture
Today, we’re highlighting some of the
easiest and most effective ways to improve your posture.
1. Sit
Properly: Good posture isn’t just about standing
properly: it’s also about sitting properly. When sitting, keep your feet on the
floor. If they don’t reach the floor in your chair, then keep your feet on a
footrest. Avoid crossing your legs when sitting and keep your ankles in front
of your knees.
2. Manage
Weight Distribution: Bear your weight primarily on
the balls of your feet when standing.
3. Position
your Legs Correctly: When Standing: When standing,
keep your knees slightly bent and about shoulder-width apart.
4. Position
your Arms Correctly:When Standing: Your arms should
hang naturally down the sides of your body. Stand straight and keep your
shoulders pulled backwards.
5. Keep
your Head in the Optimal Position: Many people have
good body posture, but they position their head incorrectly. Keep your head
level when standing. Try to keep your earlobes in line with your shoulders.
Avoid pushing your head forwards, backwards, or to the side.
Remember: long-standing postural problems
will take time to address. Your body has grown accustomed to standing in a
specific way for a long period of time. With careful training and
self-discipline, however, you can improve your posture long-term. Schedule an
appointment with a chiropractor to discover how a chiropractor may be able to
help improve your posture.
